Today is our Delhi sightseeing day!
We're going to give you a whistle stop tour. Ye ready pal?

- Jama Masjid. A Muslim mosque where we wore colourful robes and left our shoes at the entrance. This building was impressive. We were photo bombed by a little girl.

- In the bustling area of Old Delhi we enjoyed a crazy tuk tuk ride through the narrow streets. Along the way we spotted ear cleaning services, burning incense at every shop doorway and miles of electrical cables hanging from the rooftops.

- Ghandi's Memorial, Raj Ghat. Where the man himself is buried and a colourful garden surrounds a permanently lit flame. Naively we had not known that Ghandi was assassinated, this made our visit even more poignant.

- Presidential Palace and the India Gate. Although some distance apart, the India Gate was constructed to be exactly the same height as the palace whilst facing each other perfectly.

- Humayun's Tomb. Constructed in 1565, this is the resting place of Mughal Emperor Humayun. A beautiful place, with surrounding gardens and other graves. Well worth a visit.

- Lotus Temple. Designed by the same architect as the Sydney Opera House, this temple was opened in 1986 and is a place where people of any religion can go and pray.
Things we have noticed:
- Dogs look like seals - fat and grey.
- Babies wear eyeliner
- Spitting is very common - something we had to get used to!
- Many men dye their hair a tinge of red
- You must tip everyone. It is highly frowned upon if you don't. Always have small notes on you.
Funniest thing that happened today:
We felt like celebrities. 3 separate groups of guys asked to have pictures with us (particularly with Dan). We could see them nudging each other to come over and ask. One guy said "You are both very nice looking! Picture?" At first we felt a little embarrassed but after seeing how thankful they were we said yes to other people. They were in awe we are from England!
A quote from our guide;
"Best couple in the world, very beautiful, very handsome, good collection!"
With our egos thoroughly boosted we headed back to the hotel, quite a day!
We just want to apologise for the delay in getting these blog posts out, this is due to a combination of poor wifi and just generally being too busy / having too much fun!
We really appreciate everyone's comments and continued support.
Love,
B&D

Wow you two are fitting in so much and the way you explain it is fantastic. I just want to follow your footsteps.
Thanks Mumza! Having incense in the street really changes the mood of the area, so lovely. We've definitely learnt a lot. Been on a tour nearly every day for a week!
This has reminded me how much I like incense and I will start burning it again. Beth, you'll recall the mad Sound Bath lady, Roz, used to burn her incense by the front gate to welcome people in and to ward off bad energies... what a good idea 🔥
Just love love love the colours and the fact your photos don't seem to have any other white people in view, so proud of you both embracing it all, being so confident, learning all about the history and culture and for looking damn gorgeous 👫
